A fuel cell SUV represented in New Zealand by a small evaluation fleet.

This data sheet models the NEXO generation already present in New Zealand. It stores 6.33 kg of hydrogen at 700 bar and has a published WLTP consumption of 0.95 kg/100 km and range of up to 666 km.

Hyundai's all-new NEXO is launching internationally in 2026 with 6.69 kg of hydrogen and a projected range of up to 826 km WLTP. It should become a separate calculator profile if New Zealand availability is confirmed.

Specifications from the all-new model are not mixed into the current New Zealand vehicle profile.

The All-New NEXO

Hyundai's 2026 model increases usable hydrogen to 6.69 kg, fuel cell stack output to 110 kW gross, motor output to 150 kW and projected WLTP range to 826 km. Hyundai also specifies approximately five-minute refuelling.

The future model is not yet used as a New Zealand calculator default.

Using This Profile

Use a separate profile for each NEXO generation. Mixing the earlier vehicle's measured use with the new vehicle's larger tank and longer range would create an invalid fleet estimate.
